Switzerland is not part of EU and therefore does not follow EU 1223/2009 Regulation. Nonetheless, Switzerland cosmetic regulation (new ordinance 817.023.331) is very close to EU requirements and it is very easy for cosmetic compliant with EU Regulation to comply with CH regulation.
According to Article 54 of the Ordinance on Foodstuffs and Utility Articles (ODAIOUs), all cosmetic products must therefore comply with the annexes of Regulation EC 1223/2009, whether it be for prohibited ingredients or for colourings and preservatives
Like in EU, a Product Information File with a safety assessment report is mandatory for each formula placed on the CH market. Moreover, all cosmetic products must be manufactured according to ISO 22716 norm.
